Title: Immobilization of invertase by gel entrapment : construction and operation of a small-scale packed-bed reactor
Deposited By: Peter Robinson, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Central Lancashire, Preston
Date Deposited: 01 January 2002
Description: In this practical invertase immobilized in alginate gel beads will be packed into a “packed-bed reactor” to enable a continuous “feed” of substrate (= sucrose) to be converted into products (= glucose and fructose). These reducing sugars will then be identified by their reaction with Benedicts reagent.
